FAQs
what insurance do you accept?
Optum (United Behavioral Health, Mass General Brigham), Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Tufts and Harvard Pilgrim. Please note we only accept commercial plans with these insurances.
do you accept masshealth or Medicaid?
No, we currently do not accept Mass Health or Medicaid. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to inquire about providers who take your insurance. Note: We are currently in the processing of contracting with Mass Health plans whose mental health benefits are managed through Carelon. We are also in the processing of contracting to be able to accept Tufts public plans.
what forms of payment are accepted?
We accept payment via HSA, FSA, and most major credit card carriers. It is strongly preferred that clients keep a credit card on file as a secure part of your account for convenience.
when do i pay my bill?
Co-pays are collected at the time of service if your insurance plan requires a co-pay. If your plan requires a deductible or co-insurance, payment will be collected following insurance processing your claim to ensure accuracy.
what is your cancellation policy?
We ask that clients give 48 hours notice if they need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. There is a $100 late cancellation or no show fee unless there is an unforeseen extenuating circumstance. Please note, arriving or signing on more than 15 minutes late for an appointment will be considered a missed appointment.
do all of your therapists offer both in person and telehealth sessions?
No. Some of our providers are telehealth only at this time. Our providers utilize technology to provide the same quality of interventions virtually (including sand tray therapy, expressive arts, and even play based interventions!) As our organization grows, we plan to open satellite locations to serve more clients requesting in person sessions. Please see the “Our Team” page, which includes whether a particular provider has in person availability.
can you prescribe medication?
No. It is outside of our scope of practice to prescribe medication. We recommend you contact your PCP or insurance for referrals. If you are already working with one of our providers, they would be happy to provide a list of referrals.
what age clients do you accept?
We have providers who work with clients ages 4 and older. See this quick guide for the populations our providers work with.
how long should i expect to be in therapy?
It depends! Some clients find a few sessions helpful in accomplishing their goals, others engage in therapy for an extended period of time (months or even years). You’ll work together with your provider to decide what an appropriate timeline for discharge from therapy might be.
do you ever refer/transfer clients you are already working with outside your practice?
Sometimes! Reasons may be: if a client needs more support (a higher level of care) than we are able to provide as an outpatient therapists, if an issue or diagnosis is outside of our scope of competency, or if a client feels it would be beneficial to work with another provider. We respect client choice and autonomy in choosing who they work with.
why would i chose to work with a provider who is not yet licensed independently?
Pre-licensed therapists are highly educated and trained professionals working under the supervision of an experienced, fully licensed clinician. They are often up-to-date with the latest research and techniques from their recent training. They bring fresh knowledge and a passion for helping clients grow. Supervision ensures that their work is carefully guided, providing you or your child with a dynamic and well-supported therapeutic experience.
